The open-access Mapeo app, by Digital Democracy, is a monitoring and mapping tool designed with and for marginalized communities. The app collects territorial data and evidence of human rights or environmental violations, supporting the defense of their land rights. In response to an investigation conducted by Mozilla Fellows Odanga Madung and Brian Obilo, Twitter has removed 100 accounts responsible for a coordinated disinformation and harassment campaign against Kenyan journalists, judges, and other members of civil society.
